SCHOOL DAY DAD

It's fun and interesting to see Dads bringing kids to school. This day was Father's Day at my daughters' school. Dads spent the morning in their kids' classroom for some show and tell. It was a bit difficult for me as I had to rush between two classrooms. Ah, the joy of being a father of twins. I noticed one Dad chatting up Sam's teacher, from where I was standing it looked as if this dad was hitting on her. Haha. I felt I was the youngest Dad there. Everyone looked old and grey. Overall a fun experience.

Graduation

Patty and Sam had their kindergarten graduation yesterday. It's amazing how one year goes just like that. They are taller and smarter after one year and yesterday was a reminder to cherish every moment we have with our kids because they really grow up fast. Patty has always been very sentimental even at a very young age. She would cry at sad movies and things like that. Yesterday, while their school principal spoke of how much she'll miss this year's graduates, we saw Patty shedding some tears while standing on stage with the other kids. My wife and I couldn't help but smile at how Patty and Sam are growing to be gentle and caring little ladies. Ofcourse lunch was spent devouring pizza and spaghetti at this place we discovered to be oh so good. :-)

Was in Chicago

Was in Chicago a couple of weeks ago for our Lola Auring's funeral. While there, we once again had the pleasure of being with family and there were a lot of them too. I wish we could stay longer in Chicago whenever we visit, there's just not enough time to do everything we want to do.

The trip though was unexpected. The one image I took with me is the image of the funeral chapel where the wake was held and the people that attended. There was just not enough room for everyone and the chapel was quite large too. I felt this deep sense that Lola Auring has really touched a lot of people. She has always been known as the giver, provider and leader in her family. I think she played that part not just to family but to all her friends.

Her death brought tears to everyone's eyes but I felt that a lot of people felt glad that they were there for her in those last few days that we could see her. If I were to put in a word what I think everyone felt, I think it would be 'Thankful'. Everyone was thankful including myself for knowing her, thankful to her for her generosity, thankful for her wisdom and advice, and thankful that we were all there to say goodbye. I'm thankful I was chosen to be on of six people to carry her coffiin to her last destination. For everything, Lola...thank you po.

Pictures.
